Hyundai Motor India Ltd celebrated a remarkable milestone by presenting the 1,100th unit of its all-electric marvel, the IONIQ 5, to the Bollywood powerhouse, King Khan. This gesture stands as a token of appreciation, honoring his enduring association with the brand spanning over 25 illustrious years as its esteemed brand ambassador. Shah Rukh Khan himself unveiled this flagship electric SUV in India during the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year.

The IONIQ 5 stands tall as Hyundai's premier offering in the Indian automotive landscape, commanding a price tag of Rs. 45.95 Lakh. Having swiftly crossed the 1,000-unit sales threshold last week, the brand chose to commemorate this achievement by gifting the 1,100th unit to SRK, solidifying their enduring partnership.

The EV is equipped with a robust 72.6 kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive maximum range of 631 km on a single full charge. Sporting a single rear-mounted electric motor, it generates a maximum power output of 214 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Additionally, featuring a 150 kW DC fast charger, it accelerates the battery from 0 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes, while a 50 kW charger would take approximately an hour to achieve the same charge level.


The IONIQ 5 boasts an array of features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an equivalent-sized instrument cluster. Its offerings encompass a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, a ventilated seats system, a heads-up display, dual-zone climate control, and the innovative vehicle-to-load function, among others.

In terms of safety, it's fortified with six airbags, electronic stability control, and a comprehensive 360-degree camera alongside advanced assistance systems. Moreover, it's equipped with Hyundai SmartSense ADAS Level 2 features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Lane Follow Assist, Blind Spot View Monitor, Driver Attention Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more, ensuring a heightened level of safety and driver assistance.
